An easy to use Mac OS X application that offers you the possibility to have fun by creating your own Star Wars styled title sequences.
What's new in Star Wars TSG 1.2.3:
- Distributor image gutted under Fox legal threat.
Star Wars TSG is a minimalist Mac OS X application designed to help you replicate the Star Wars title sequence using your own information. The utility renders all the frames to BMP files, and then you can use QuickTime to create a movie file that can be integrated into your project easier.
Unsophisticated image renderer that can create a custom Star Wars like title sequence
The Star Wars TSG application aims at allowing you to create a Star Wars theme title sequence without having to manually edit the videos. All you have to do is input the relevant information in the Star Wars TSG main window, and the utility takes care of the rest.
Right off the bat, you must provide the title sequence content: the distributor name and other distribution details, the film company, the into text, the movie title, and the text sequence that you want to see crawling.
At the same time, in the Generate panel, you must select the screen size (small, medium, large, Anamorphic DVD NTSC / PAL, HD Low / High, or custom), the frame rate (movie, PAL, NTSC, or custom), and the output folder (it is advisable to create a separate directory for each project).
All you have to do next is decide if you want a starfield generated in the background or not, and then press the “GO” button: Star Wars TSG will start the rendering process, which will take some time, and you will be able to monitor its progress.
Quickly compile the generated images into a movie by using QuickTime
Note that Star Wars TSG will create a separate BMP file for each frame: to actually create the video with the title sequence, you can import these file to QuickTime and then make use of the built-in export capabilities to generate the movie file.
All in all, Star Wars TSG proves to be a fairly easy to use application, and offers you the possibility to quickly make your own Star Wars inspired title sequences without making you deal with complex editing tools.
